God Loves is our annual mission week, including teaching, worship, fellowship, evangelism, community service, prayer and lots more.
Look out for us out and about in Durham in our blue ‘God Loves’ T-shirts and come and say hello!
This summer we’re sending a group to Bulgaria, to support local evangelism and churches.
Part of the group going will be our intern James Wakefield. To support James to be able to take part in the trip, we’re hosting a ‘pay-as-you-feel’ fundraising meal.
It will be a three-course meal of Indian food, with entertainment provided by the student barber shop choir Full Score.
The event will be at The Durham Centre on Saturday 29th April from 7pm. Book your place here.
This short course aims to help us develop a greater understanding of God's heart for the world and what he's doing all around us, how each local church in any nation can become a "Great Commission" channel for his blessing with every member playing a vital part.

We’re very much looking forward to George Verwer visiting us January 15-16.
Born in USA, George, pictured here with George and Alison Burch, began visiting British university campuses in the early 1960s and called out hundreds of students to give their lives for Jesus in place mission agencies were avoiding. That number has now exceeded 200,000.
George is largely responsible for a church planting movement in India of more than 3,000 indigenous fellowships and a world prayer movement for breakthrough in Turkey - after 60 years of collective prayer. He's also responsible for the first Christian evangelism ship and has become a role model for hundreds of thousands.
We will be holding a Saturday evening meeting when George is here, on Saturday 15th January at TDC from 7.30pm, for a time of worship, ministry, and hearing from George.
George will then be preaching at our Sunday morning meeting on the 16th, as well as at the student Hub meeting on the evening.
God Loves is a week we run each year where we get together to show how God loves our city and communities through providing practical help.
This year, activities are being planned for Gilesgate and Chester-le-Street between Wednesday 12th and Friday 14th June, followed by a Fun Day in Chester-le-Street on Saturday 15th June.

During our Sunday morning meeting in Chester-le-Street on Sunday 12th May, Scarlett Payne (our FP intern for the year) will be holding a fundraising bake sale for her FP mission trip to Albania, which is fast approaching.
A variety of cakes and biscuits will be available, including dairy and gluten free bakes! Please bring money with you to buy some cakes and donate towards the trip .
Our annual God Loves mission week is nearly here!
It begins with a Fun Day in Chester-le-Street on Saturday 9th June - all are welcome to The Green, DH2 2BA, between 2pm and 5pm for bouncy castle, face painting, barbecues and more!
Then from Tuesday 12th to Friday 15th June, the God Loves team will be gathering each morning for worship, teaching and prayer, before hitting the streets for practical serving and volunteering each afternoon.
We'll be serving local schools, charities and groups in Chester-le-Street and Gilesgate.
On Wednesday 13th June, a quiz night will be held at The RE-f-USE cafe, Chester-le-Street, between 7.30pm and 9.30pm. It's open to all ages. Snacks and drinks will be served on a Pay-As-You-Feel basis.
On Saturday 16th June, our Emmanuel Community Gilesgate will be assisting Kings Church Durham to run a Fun Day at Gilesgate Primary School, DH1 1PH, from 11am to 1pm. All are welcome.
And finally, on Sunday 17th June...
In Durham, there will be a Baptisms service at The Durham Centre at 10.30am.
In Chester-le-Street, there will be a Family service at Park View Community School at 10.30am and a Double Decker Den, an indoor play area on a bus, at Bullion Hall from 3.30pm to 5pm, with fun and games inside from 3pm to 5pm.

On Sunday 25th June the FP team will be washing cars during the church service to help raise funds for their mission trip to South Africa. You can find out more about the trip here.
There will be a suggested donation of £10 for an outside wash and £5 extra for an inside vacuum (but all donations are welcome). Please sign up in advance to have your car washed, using this form.
This summer, our FP interns and some of our students are going on mission to South Africa.
They recently made bacon sandwiches before and after church, in return for donations to fund the trip. This raised £323.19.
On Sunday 11th June, there will be a fundraising bake sale - before and after the service at Durham.

It's nearly time for our God Loves mission week!
From 19th to 25th June we will be staging a week of missional activities in Ushaw Moor and Chester-le-Street.
We already have many students signed up, but we're also looking for non-students to get involved and make the week happen.
There will be teaching sessions on the mornings, followed by community work, schools work and evening events, all aimed at sharing the Gospel through what we say and do.
God Loves will begin with a Fun Day at Ushaw Moor cricket grounds on Sunday 19th June from 2:00pm to 5:00pm.
